Vision 2035
Building the capacity to turn cultural vision into community life
Worldwide Nation’s long-term ambition is to help communities create places and practices that strengthen connection, wellbeing, creativity, and opportunity. Gary and Northwest Indiana are the intended starting point for institutional development, with the aim of building models that can be adapted elsewhere.
Vision 2035 provides a horizon for that work. It expresses the direction we want to pursue, rather than a promise that every proposed program or development will be completed by 2035.
Our Immediate Priority: Build the Institution
Our first task is to bring together a Founding Circle of prospective directors, advisors, and institutional champions and recruit an effective governing Board of Directors. Shared leadership will help establish governance, financial controls, policies, and practical priorities for beginning work in the region.
Our Next Work: Select and Develop Local Projects
With leadership in place, we intend to assess community needs, identify potential partners, and choose realistic projects that can begin as support becomes available. Program planning and preliminary feasibility work will help connect our ambitions to achievable local action.
The inaugural Worldwide Nation Fundraising Gala is intended to formally introduce the organization once it is prepared for public engagement. Broader promotion and subsequent events will follow as capacity develops.
Our Longer-Term Ambition: Places, Programs, and Opportunity
Our vision includes family development centers, food and housing support, creative media, arts education, and survivor recognition. It also includes exploring conservation destinations, cultural institutions, public spaces, and recreational attractions that could strengthen communities and regional opportunity.
These priorities connect services with the environments in which people live. Their development will proceed through community participation, responsible planning, partnerships, and investment.
Local Beginnings, Global Possibilities
Worldwide Nation’s mission extends beyond a single city or region. Work developed in Northwest Indiana can become a foundation for learning, adaptation, and collaboration with other communities. Expansion will depend on local needs and the capacity to deliver meaningful work in each place.
